Finally got a chance to give the Lexus an extended run. I love this car.
I was late getting up, but still ended up making decent time. Stopped to take a few pictures on the way there.
This guy hit the center rumble strips just as I took this photo. Scared the shit out of me.
I drive up over High Point to get to the initial meeting point. Wind must’ve been pretty intense up there.
Made it to the meeting point where we wait for everybody to show up.
At High Point.
It was damn cold, windy and I didn’t bring enough charcoal. It was awesome.
Great seeing all of you again and meeting the ones I hadn’t before.

That car is ludicrously faster and more comfortable than I imagined it being. You made the right choice. If it came in manual, i would totally want one.

That car is not a sports car though. I have an LS400 and it’s meant to crunch miles very quickly with minimal effort. I’ve put almost 2000 miles on my car in the last month(while only driving it weekends nonetheless) but I would never want a manual LS. That’s just shortsighted/missing the point.

Yes.... very clean for a 2001 and the blue is fantastic. Not a lot in that color.

Maybe you dont want a manual LS (along with most other people) but I certainly would. I dont expect manufacturers to make unrealistic manual cars but I certainly would be happy if they did. To me, a car doesnt need to be a sports car to need a manual. Sure, automatics can be “acceptable” but I wouldnt want to drive one for a bunch of miles. Manuals dont require any effort when just cruising down the highway anyways. My opinion is not grounded in reality which is why I will just suffer and always pick sports cars instead. All of that comfort would be nice to have though!

Then SC400 or GS400/430 with a manual swap. That I can get on board with. The LS stays as it is.

That looks awesome. Wish we had enough people in the Omaha/Des Moines area to do such a thing. Alternatively, I’d love to make it up to that one some time.

The only car a manual makes no sense in is something with only one gear. Like an electric car or something. I am aware that is unrealistic.
